I will treat a journal as I would a report from a professional employee. I will not grade English grammar. If your grammar detracts from the report, I shall give the journal a zero grade. The CE 4092 grading criteria for journals are the professional quality of the journal and whether or not I like it. Whether or not I agree with your vu-point has nothing to do with the grading.

Communications Exercise 2: Class room communications
The classroom (either on-line or in-person) is a rich communications environment. However, it is also highly restricted in the types of communication content that are acceptable. Briefly identify 5 types of communication content that are acceptable and 5 types of communication content that are forbidden. (Point form is acceptable.)

QUESTION 2

Nonverbal Communication

Non-verbal communication is a central part of how we communicate with each other as individuals. Describe a situation where you deliberately used non-verbal communication to get your point across, or one where someone else used non-verbal communication to “speak” to you. Or examine a situation of cross-cultural failure or success at non-verbal communication. What happened? How many aspects of non-verbal communication were present? How much did you need to know cultural cues in order to make it work?

Write a substantive response that explores your answer. Provide evidence or examples. You may wish to refer to something you have read. If you do refer to something you have read, make sure you use a proper APA reference.

QUESTION 3

Class Room Communications

We all learn rules for what types of things we can say or write in any specific environment. How do we learn those rules and are they formal (criminal charges for hate language) or informal (stern looks from neighbours)? Look at the guidelines for communications exercise two and post your response here in the body of response.

Once you have done that, review the responses of your fellow students. Do you agree or disagree? Have they properly understood the sources of regulation? What does there work suggest to you about how we determine the normal boundaries of acceptable communication?
