Political consultants advise candidates about what political positions to take to win elections  Election
Paper details
Political consultants advise candidates about what political positions to take to win elections. In this paper, imagine that you are a political consultant in 1970 and that you are advising a incumbent Democratic senator running for reelection in a mid-term election in an industrial Northern stat with a large working class, ethic voters. how should a Democratic Senator run in that circumstances? Your memo must include specific quotes from the book Chain Reaction by Thomas and Marry Edsall A) Discuss post-1932 dominance of the New Deal Coalition and important Presidential elections. B) Discuss how various issues (welfare, busing, taxes, rights, feminism) have effected the Democratic Party. C) Suggest how the Senator might win reelection in this context. What positions should he/she take. For example, do your advice your candidate to oppose busing even if African-Americans in your state may support it.

Methods used to teach kinds not to be selfishMethods used to teach kinds not to be selfish
Paper details
The paper has to be about themes or lessons that many books provide to its readers. The three stories I would like to focus on are Beauty and the Beast, Happy Prince and The Nightingale. The teacher would like for the paper to have citation points from specific part of the book provided through the semester. My main focus is to show how these fictional stories emphasizes how being selfish can case more harm then good.

What does friendship feel like?’What does friendship feel like?’
Paper details
Assessed project: Qualitative project guidelines

If you choose to write up the qualitative project option, you will find the materials from weeks 8 and 9 particularly useful, but may find it useful to refer back to earlier sessions too (e.g. week 1 on the philosophical issues underpinning research).

Your project report should feature your analysis of one of the interview transcripts from the TQRMUL dataset (http://www.pnarchive.org/Webdocs_not_nof/tqrmul/dataset/). If you wish, you may attempt to analyse more than one interview, but it is not necessary to do so. Indeed, at this stage it may be more useful to undertake a detailed analysis of one interview than try to take on too much and doing it relatively superficially. You should use the ‘playscript’ version of the transcript for your analysis. Your research question is: ‘What does friendship feel like?’

As discussed in the lecture and practical sessions in week 9, you should use thematic analysis. You will need to go through the stages outlined by Howitt and Cramer (2011; see also Braun & Clarke, 2006).

You should write-up your report in the format outlined on the lecture slides in week 9. Please note that this is slightly different to the format outlined in the skills session in Week 4. There are important differences between the format of qualitative and statistical research reports.

Case Study on SUN Brewing (A)
SUN Brewing (A)

The case exemplifies entrepreneurial risks in emerging markets and shows how family business groups can step in to perform the function of an internal capital market, especially when external capital markets may be inefficient. In particular, it highlights the prospects of the Khemka family in the Russian beer market.

1. What made the Khemka family decide to enter the beer market in Russia in 1992. How did they find themselves in the situation they were in at the time of the case? What could they have done differently?
2. How was the growth financed?
3. What were SUN Brewing’s financing needs in March 1999? How much was the company worth?
4. What risks were associated with investing in a Russian beer company in 1999?
5. What were the pros and cons of the different alternatives (listed below) available to the Khemka family in 1999?
1)        Stay the course (go it alone)
2)        Bring in a strategic (joint venture) partner
3)        Bringing in a financial partner
4)        Sell off completely

Requirements

1. Read the Case first, and then answer all questions (1–5) with third person tone. This assignment should be a paper format, which needs total 3 pages about 900 words. This paper will be uploaded to TURNITIN.COM. Please do this assignment carefully. My professor is strict.

2. When analyzing a case study, all the used references (including the Internet) should appear within the text [e.g. (John Doe, 2008)] and on the references page. The analysis should also contain a summary of related current developments obtained through searches on the Internet.

The Internet sources you use must from The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes, Business Week, Barrons, Financial Times or The Economist. I need you to give me all of the links of outside sources if you use. I will prefer four sources (one of the sources should be the text book).
Please be careful for the Citation because teacher said it is very important.
