EMDR/PTSD/Adolescents
Final Project
Instructions
Final Project
The Final Project in this course will be a literature review aimed at determining the
evidence to support a counseling theory, technique, or intervention of your choice. In this
project, you will explore quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research articles
published within the last 10 years in counseling journals related to your selected topic. In
addition to examining specific research methodology, you will also include a review of
articles focused on program evaluation efforts related to your topic of interest.
LITERATURE REVIEW
The Final Project for this course will involve the construction of a literature review that
can be used to inform counseling practice. For this assignment, you will have to do the
following:
a) Select a theory, technique, or intervention strategy that can be applied in your counseling
specialty that you would like to explore in the professional literature
b) Visit the Walden University Library to determine if there is sufficient professional literature
available related to your topic of interest
c) Submit your topic to your Course Instructor for approval
d) Select:
1. At least five quantitative research articles
2. At least five qualitative research articles
3. At least one mixed methods research article
4. At least one program evaluation article for review
Your review should include between 12 and 15 peer-reviewed articles. Note that mixed
methods research articles may not be published on every topic of interest. In these
cases, additional program evaluation articles may be substituted.
Constructing a Literature Review
Writing a quality literature review involves a thorough knowledge of research methods
and exemplary writing skills. A well-written literature review conveys the story of the
research that has been conducted to date on a certain topic. Contained in the story is a
critical analysis of the research efforts (e.g., design, procedure, sample, data analysis, and
interpretation) and an evaluation of how the research can inform practice. By conducting
a review of the literature, it is possible to determine if gaps exist that require further
research. Throughout this course, you will develop a thorough understanding of the
literature review process and the components of a quality literature review.
Although the Final Project is not to be submitted until Day 4 of Week 11, you should
become familiar with the project requirements and have them in mind as you proceed
through the course.
The Final Project will be evaluated according to all four indicators in the Application
Assignment and Final Paper Writing Rubric located in the Course Information area. Be
sure that the Final Project is written using APA format.
Information on scholarly writing may be found in the APA Manual (6th ed.) and at the
Walden Writing Center website. Also, see the Walden University Policies and Information
in the Guidelines and Policies area under “Policies on Academic Honesty.”

HistoryPaper instructions:
with the attached website… choose chapter 2 and one of the documents and read it. at the bottom of the page it has questions… instead of writing in the boxes turn answers into an essay. Hopefully it goes right to the one I chose. http://www.wwnorton.com/college/history/america8/full/ch/02/documents.aspx (Thats the link) needs to be 1000 words… doesn't need direct quotes. Just answer questions but turn into essay with thesis and conclusion.

Sense

Ask a person who was in academic writing how the industry was back in 2006 and how it is now. Two different things. If you want to know just how worse it is, right now I have Uvocorp, essaywriter and writerbay, which are some of the best accounts….but all have less than 20 available orders…so if you wish to boycott, its a pretty bad season, you will come back running I can assure you. I dont like support either and I dont really care about them. Believe it or not, essayshark is among the best accounts to have this low season….even if you get one job a day…be grateful. Low seasons are becoming drier. I fully agree with you that academic writing is here to stay, but the question is how many writers will be bidding for those jobs. I will not say more, make your money and quit this shit for good. I also dont like the new bidding system, but support dont give a damn about you…deal with that.

English and Literature

Assignment:
All of the readings in The Little, Brown Reader either comment directly on or relate to the aspects of our culture that pose challenges in our effort to understand our lives and environment. These include family, identity, teaching and learning, work and play, language and communication, social networking, law and disorder, consumerism, and our environment. Consider the readings on these topics that are of interest to you, and write an argumentative essay in which you analyze and take a stand on an issue related to one of these specific topics. Using at least one of the readings from our text and several additional sources, synthesize the viewpoints of these sources, and argue the position you find most convincing. Be sure to adhere to MLA guidelines throughout the process.

Length: 1800-2400 words (6-8 pages)

Selecting a Topic:
Choose a topic that:
• honestly interests you—perhaps an issue you or someone you know has faced—something you genuinely care about;
• is researchable (involving a range of sources—magazines, journals, books, Internet, pamphlets, interviews, etc.);
• can be covered fairly in 1800-2400 words (narrow your focus).
Required Sources:
In addition to citing from one of the readings in The Little, Brown Reader (12th Edition), you must cite from a minimum of five sources (for a total of six required sources). These need to represent a variety of different types of sources—include a combination of at least three of the following:

• Analytical: information provided through analysis of the issue (book or article)
• Internet: choose from the wide range of information available (be sure to assess the credibility of the site)
• Interview: conduct an interview with an expert in the field (someone who has studied the issue or has personal experience with it)
• Survey: include responses from at least 25 people
• Cultural: use examples from TV, film, popular magazines, etc.

MLA Format:
• Include parenthetical citations for all quotes, paraphrases, and summaries.
• List your sources in a Works Cited list—the list of the sources you actually cite in your paper and a Works Consulted list, if applicable—the list of the sources you consult but don’t actually cite in your paper.
