              This article is an analysis of Gwendolyn Brooks’ works. This article is useful for my research because it analyses the various themes of Gwendolyn Brooks’ poems which includes the struggle of an African American.
2) Debo, Annette. “Signifying Afrika: Gwendolyn Brooks' Later Poetry.” Callaloo29.1 (2006): 168-81. Project MUSE. Web. 13 June 2014.
                This article narrates how Brooks’ wanted her works to connect her audience to the physical continent and people of Africa. This source is useful for my research because the purpose of the article is centered on Brooks’ intense focus on African roots for Black Americans.

                  This article explains in detail the theme of racial solidarity in Brooks’ works. This article is useful for my research because it analyses the various themes of Gwendolyn Brooks’ poems which includes the struggle of an African American, Black feminism, and Black power movement.

           This article is centered on Brooks’ ability to focus her works on things which she cared about including her ‘Black Family’. This source is useful for my research because it discusses how Brooks’ poems are a replica of a black man/woman’s life.

                   The book ‘A Life Distilled’ is a collection of essays on Gwendolyn Brooks. This book is useful for my research because it provides detailed information about Brooks’ poems and also events and things that influenced her works.
